One of the figures actively discussing this issue is Irsan Kadri, an influencer who openly shares his views and experiences regarding polygamy through video content and commercially distributed e-books. The narratives presented often portray polygamy as an easy practice and tend to normalize practices outside legal provisions, such as unregistered marriages and the simplification of the concept of justice in polygamy. This condition raises legal concerns because the practice of polygamy in Indonesia has been strictly regulated through Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage and the Compilation of Islamic Law. This research is a field study conducted online and employs a descriptive-analytical method with a normative?juridical approach. The normative approach is used to examine these views based on Islamic law through the theory of Sadd a?-?ar??ah, while the juridical approach is used to analyze them within the framework of positive law, particularly Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage. Data were collected through observation of social media content, e-books, interviews with the source, and the study of legal literature. Data analysis uses an inductive reasoning method to draw conclusions from empirical and normative findings. The results of this study show that Irsan Kadri?s views on polygamy tend to simplify the requirements of polygamy and place justice only in material aspects and the consent of the wife as a form of legitimacy. From the perspective of Islamic law, this understanding narrows the broader concept of justice and potentially opens the way for practices that contradict the principle of preventing harm as explained in the theory of Sadd a?-?ar??ah. These views are not fully consistent with the provisions of Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage and the Compilation of Islamic Law, particularly regarding the obligation to obtain permission from the Religious Court and the importance of marriage registration to ensure legal certainty for wives and children.
