This study aims to analyze the empowerment communication strategies of the Jogja Young Farmers Community to support food independence among its members. Using an exploratory qualitative approach, data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies. By referring to communication strategies in the form of selecting communicators, determining targets and goals, compiling messages, selecting media and the theory of asset based community development (ABCD). The research results indicate two key factors that contribute to the strategy's success. First, there is the humanization of agriculture, where participants are not objects but subjects of empowerment. This humanization of agriculture involves empowering community administrators as catalysts to build emotional, dialogic, and participatory communication, fostering community traditions, and providing a free space for participants. This approach is considered effective in increasing the adoption of food self-sufficiency knowledge, which is implemented through changes in participant behavior. Second, community assets, such as land, buildings, human resources, and member potential, support the communication process as a medium for participants' agricultural practices.
