The phenomenon of low self-confidence is often found in children entering adolescence. This study aims to determine the relationship between paternal attachment and self-confidence in high school adolescents. The hypothesis in this study is a positive relationship between paternal attachment and self-confidence. Participants in this study were 132 students of Bantul 3 State Senior High School. The sampling technique used was quota sampling. This study used a quantitative correlational approach. The measuring instrument used was the Self-Confidence Scale referring to aspects of Lauster's theory (2002) and the Paternal Attachment Scale referring to aspects of Greenberg & Armsden (1987). The results of the analysis using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test showed r = 0.388 with p < 0.001, which means there is a positive relationship between paternal attachment and self-confidence in high school adolescents, so the hypothesis is accepted. Self-confidence has an effective contribution of 15% to paternal attachment. The results of this study indicate that paternal attachment has an important role in shaping and increasing the self-confidence of high school students. %Z Dr. Zidni Immawan Muslimin, S.Psi., M.Si.
