challenges, including in mosques on campuses in the Special Region of
Yogyakarta. This is driven by the fact that the practice of tarawih kultum is still
dominated by male participation and still considers women unsuitable to appear
as religious communicators. This study aims to determine the trust of mosque
administrators and congregations in female preachers, analyze female preachers'
communication in building recognition, and identify the obstacles faced by female
preachers in building recognition in five campus mosques in the Special Region of
Yogyakarta. The research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological
approach. Field research data collection techniques include observation,
interviews, and documentation. Data validity is ensured using the triangulation
method, namely source, space, and time triangulation. Meanwhile, data analysis
begins with data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and concludes with
drawing conclusions. The research used Mayer, Davis, and Schoorman's theory of
trust, deVito's theory of interpersonal communication, Honneth's theory of
recognition, and Qibtiyah's understanding of Muslim gender. The results of the
study show that the trust of takmir and jama'ah is formed through the
interrelationship between ability, benevolence, and integrity. Takmir tend to
recognize da'iyah based on their knowledge and academic capabilities, while
jama'ah recognize da'iyah based on their ability to convey the message of da'wah.
Communication between da'iyahs and congregants tends to foster recognition in
terms of love or emotional relationships and solidarity, but has not yet gained
recognition in terms of legal or policy relationships in some campus mosques. The
main obstacle for da'iyahs in building recognition stems from differences in
opinion regarding the appearance of women in tarawih sermons at the main
pulpit and in front of men. This perspective led the mosque administrators to
decide not to involve female da'iyah in legal or policy recognition that would
cover them.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">297.6 Dakwah dan Penyiaran Islam</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2026-03-04</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA;FAKULTAS DAKWAH DAN KOMUNIKASI</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Thesis</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_76500"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_76500_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
