      "abstract": "Stunting remains a significant public health issue in Indonesia, including in the\r\nSpecial Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), where relatively high levels of education do\r\nnot always correspond to adequate family awareness and understanding of\r\nnutrition, parenting, and sanitation, particularly during the first 1,000 days of life.\r\nIn this context, BKKBN DIY plays a strategic role in addressing stunting through\r\ncommunication-based interventions. This study aims to analyze the communication\r\nstrategy implemented through the Foster Parent Movement to Prevent Stunting\r\n(GENTING) program in improving the understanding and awareness of families at\r\nrisk of stunting. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method with data\r\ncollected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research\r\nsubjects included the Permas team, family assistance team (TPK) coordinators, and\r\nprogram beneficiaries. The findings show that the communication strategy refers to\r\nthe model proposed by Philip Lesly, which includes stages of analysis, policy\r\nformulation, program implementation, and evaluation. The strategy involves\r\nidentifying at-risk families, recruiting foster parents, conducting counseling and\r\nassistance, and evaluating responses and behavioral changes. In conclusion, the\r\ncommunication strategy in the GENTING program has improved the understanding\r\nand awareness of families at risk of stunting in DIY. However, behavioral change\r\nrequires continuous efforts, supported by the involvement of foster parents as a form\r\nof social support.",
