Against the backdrop of the escalating Israel–Palestine conflict, which has resonated widely in the Indonesian public sphere, solidarity with Palestine has become a significant issue. This phenomenon not only reflects religious sentiment but also serves as a space for the articulation of identity, ideological representation, and discourse in digital media. Within this framework, Palestinian solidarity is understood as a discursive practice formed through the relations between media, the public, and digital platforms. This practice unfolds through processes of distribution and negotiation of meaning, resulting in dynamics of fragmentation, contestation, and intensification. Thus, media function not merely as conveyors of information but as mechanisms for the construction, operationalization, and rearticulation of meaning within the digital media ecosystem. Based on this framework, this study aims to analyze and explain Palestinian solidarity as an ongoing discursive process within the digital media ecosystem. This also distinguishes the study from previous research, which tends to adopt a linear and fragmented approach between text production and the circulation of meaning. In operationalizing this framework, the study employs a qualitative approach with a critical perspective through three stages of analysis: the construction of solidarity discourse, its operationalization in public communication practices, and its rearticulation in digital circulation. The analysis utilizes Teun A. Van Dijk’s Critical Discourse Analysis to uncover representational structures and power relations within media texts, as well as Stewart M. Hoover’s perspective on the mediation of religion to explain the formation of religious meaning in public culture. The data consist of 901 news texts selected from a total of 17,375 articles, as well as 420 posts from the X platform, drawn from Kompas.com, Detik.com, and Republika.co.id during the period from October 2023 to April 2024. The findings indicate that the three media outlets frame solidarity in different ways. Republika.co.id interprets solidarity as a normative religious obligation, while Kompas.com emphasizes a universal humanitarian framework, and Detik.com presents solidarity through event-based narratives. At the operationalization stage, Palestinian solidarity is enacted through religious authorization, moral framing of the conflict, and the repetition of representations that enable solidarity to function as a normative reference in public communication. This process reinforces solidarity as a symbol endowed with social legitimacy. However, in digital circulation, the meaning of Palestinian solidarity does not move linearly; rather, it undergoes transformation through the interaction between media editorial strategies, platform technical logics, and content visibility mechanisms. This interaction generates fragmentation, contestation, and intensification of discourse.
