Against the backdrop of\r\nthe escalating Israel–Palestine conflict, which has resonated widely in\r\nthe Indonesian public sphere, solidarity with Palestine has become a\r\nsignificant issue. This phenomenon not only reflects religious\r\nsentiment but also serves as a space for the articulation of identity,\r\nideological representation, and discourse in digital media. Within this\r\nframework, Palestinian solidarity is understood as a discursive\r\npractice formed through the relations between media, the public, and\r\ndigital platforms. This practice unfolds through processes of\r\ndistribution and negotiation of meaning, resulting in dynamics of\r\nfragmentation, contestation, and intensification. Thus, media function\r\nnot merely as conveyors of information but as mechanisms for the\r\nconstruction, operationalization, and rearticulation of meaning within\r\nthe digital media ecosystem. Based on this framework, this study aims\r\nto analyze and explain Palestinian solidarity as an ongoing discursive\r\nprocess within the digital media ecosystem. This also distinguishes the\r\nstudy from previous research, which tends to adopt a linear and\r\nfragmented approach between text production and the circulation of\r\nmeaning.\r\nIn operationalizing this framework, the study employs a\r\nqualitative approach with a critical perspective through three stages of\r\nanalysis: the construction of solidarity discourse, its operationalization\r\nin public communication practices, and its rearticulation in digital\r\ncirculation. The analysis utilizes Teun A. Van Dijk’s Critical\r\nDiscourse Analysis to uncover representational structures and power\r\nrelations within media texts, as well as Stewart M. Hoover’s\r\nperspective on the mediation of religion to explain the formation of\r\nreligious meaning in public culture. The data consist of 901 news texts\r\nselected from a total of 17,375 articles, as well as 420 posts from the X platform, drawn from Kompas.com, Detik.com, and Republika.co.id\r\nduring the period from October 2023 to April 2024.\r\nThe findings indicate that the three media outlets frame\r\nsolidarity in different ways. Republika.co.id interprets solidarity as a\r\nnormative religious obligation, while Kompas.com emphasizes a\r\nuniversal humanitarian framework, and Detik.com presents solidarity\r\nthrough event-based narratives. At the operationalization stage,\r\nPalestinian solidarity is enacted through religious authorization, moral\r\nframing of the conflict, and the repetition of representations that\r\nenable solidarity to function as a normative reference in public\r\ncommunication. This process reinforces solidarity as a symbol\r\nendowed with social legitimacy. However, in digital circulation, the\r\nmeaning of Palestinian solidarity does not move linearly; rather, it\r\nundergoes transformation through the interaction between media\r\neditorial strategies, platform technical logics, and content visibility\r\nmechanisms. This interaction generates fragmentation, contestation,\r\nand intensification of discourse.
