Neglectful parenting, characterized by a lack of attention, supervision, and emotional involvement, is assumed to influence the low level of discipline in performing salat. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of neglectful parenting on the discipline of performing salat among early adolescents. This research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The subjects of this study were 101 students of MTs Hidayatullah Yogyakarta. Data were collected using questionnaires developed based on indicators of neglectful parenting and discipline in performing salat. The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and simple linear regression to determine the relationship and influence between variables. The results showed that there is a negative and significant relationship between neglectful parenting and the discipline of performing salat, with a correlation coefficient of r = -0.565 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). This indicates that the higher the level of neglectful parenting, the lower the level of students’ discipline in performing salat. The results of simple linear regression analysis show that neglectful parenting has a negative and significant effect on the discipline of performing salat, with a regression coefficient of -1.208 and a significance value of 0.000. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.319, indicating that neglectful parenting contributes 31.9% to the discipline of performing salat, while the remaining is influenced by other factors outside this study. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that neglectful parenting has a significant effect on the discipline of performing salat among early adolescents.
