bibo:abstract "The rapid development of digital technology has positioned Generation Z as one of the\r\nmost active groups in social media usage. However, high digital connectivity does not\r\nalways correlate with an increase in meaningful social connection and can even be\r\nassociated with the emergence of loneliness. This study aims to determine the role of selfcompassion\r\nin predicting loneliness among Generation Z social media users. This\r\nresearch employed a quantitative approach involving 250 Generation Z participants\r\nselected through purposive sampling. The instruments used were the Self-Compassion\r\nScale (SCS) and the UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3. Data were analyzed using simple\r\nlinear regression with Jamovi software. The results showed that self-compassion\r\nsignificantly predicts (R²= 0.314, p < 0.001, B = -0.468, t = -10.7). These findings\r\nindicate that self-compassion contributes 31.4% to the variation in loneliness, with a\r\nnegative direction of relationship. This implies that higher levels of self-compassion are\r\nassociated with lower levels of loneliness. This study concludes that self-compassion is a\r\ncrucial internal psychological resource for understanding loneliness among Generation Z\r\nsocial media users. Practically, these findings imply the importance of developing selfcompassionate\r\nattitudes as a strategy to support the psychological well-being of the\r\ndigital generation."^^xsd:string;
