      "abstract": "Early adulthood is a phase of emerging adulthood characterized by identity\r\nexploration, emotional instability, and the need for social acceptance. This condition\r\ncan encourage individuals to excessively adjust themselves and avoid conflict, thereby\r\ngiving rise to people-pleasing behavior, which is the tendency to prioritize others’\r\nneeds in order to gain approval and avoid rejection. This behavior is influenced by\r\nseveral factors, including Kelekatan tidak aman and harga diri, where Kelekatan tidak\r\naman is associated with fear of rejection and conflict in interpersonal relationships\r\nthat stems from Kelekatan tidak amanexperiences in childhood, while low harga diri\r\nincreases dependence on others’ acceptance. This study aims to examine the\r\nrelationship between Kelekatan tidak aman and harga diri with people-pleasing\r\nbehavior in early adulthood. This study used a quantitative approach with a\r\ncorrelational design. The research subjects consisted of 200 respondents with the\r\ncharacteristics of individuals aged 18-30 years who reside in the Special Region of\r\nYogyakarta. The sampling technique used was convenience sampling. Data collection\r\nwas conducted online using Google Forms with three psychological scales, namely a\r\npeople-pleasing scale translated into Indonesian based on the concept of Braiker\r\n(2001), an Kelekatan tidak aman scale using the Inventory of Parent and Peer\r\nAttachment (IPPA) modified version by the researcher, and a harga diri scale using\r\nThe Coopersmith Harga diri Inventory (CSEI) modified version by the researcher.\r\nData analysis used multiple regression techniques. The results of the study indicate\r\nthat the major hypothesis is accepted, meaning that there is a significant relationship\r\nbetween Kelekatan tidak aman and harga diri with people-pleasing behavior.\r\nHowever, partially (minor hypotheses), Kelekatan tidak aman does not have a\r\nsignificant relationship with people-pleasing, while harga diri has a negative and\r\nsignificant relationship with people-pleasing.",
