%T HUBUNGAN ANTARA KELEKATAN TIDAK AMAN DAN HARGA DIRI DENGAN PERILAKU PEOPLE PLEASING PADA USIA DEWASA AWAL
%X Early adulthood is a phase of emerging adulthood characterized by identity
exploration, emotional instability, and the need for social acceptance. This condition
can encourage individuals to excessively adjust themselves and avoid conflict, thereby
giving rise to people-pleasing behavior, which is the tendency to prioritize others’
needs in order to gain approval and avoid rejection. This behavior is influenced by
several factors, including Kelekatan tidak aman and harga diri, where Kelekatan tidak
aman is associated with fear of rejection and conflict in interpersonal relationships
that stems from Kelekatan tidak amanexperiences in childhood, while low harga diri
increases dependence on others’ acceptance. This study aims to examine the
relationship between Kelekatan tidak aman and harga diri with people-pleasing
behavior in early adulthood. This study used a quantitative approach with a
correlational design. The research subjects consisted of 200 respondents with the
characteristics of individuals aged 18-30 years who reside in the Special Region of
Yogyakarta. The sampling technique used was convenience sampling. Data collection
was conducted online using Google Forms with three psychological scales, namely a
people-pleasing scale translated into Indonesian based on the concept of Braiker
(2001), an Kelekatan tidak aman scale using the Inventory of Parent and Peer
Attachment (IPPA) modified version by the researcher, and a harga diri scale using
The Coopersmith Harga diri Inventory (CSEI) modified version by the researcher.
Data analysis used multiple regression techniques. The results of the study indicate
that the major hypothesis is accepted, meaning that there is a significant relationship
between Kelekatan tidak aman and harga diri with people-pleasing behavior.
However, partially (minor hypotheses), Kelekatan tidak aman does not have a
significant relationship with people-pleasing, while harga diri has a negative and
significant relationship with people-pleasing.
