personalities and characters. At this stage, children are in a phase of development that is
very sensitive to stimuli from their environment, especially the family environment. Parents,
as teachers at home, have a strategic role in shaping children's attitudes, behaviors, and
basic values, including independence and self-confidence. The parenting patterns applied by
parents influence the process of internalizing the values instilled in children. This study aims
to examine the dynamics of parenting patterns in internalizing the values of independence
and self-confidence in children.
This study uses a qualitative approach and a case study research design. The research
subjects include five parents, one classroom teacher, and fifteen children. Data collection
techniques include in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Data
analysis techniques use the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes three
stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity testing uses
source and method triangulation techniques.
The results of the study show that: First, democratic parenting is the most dominant
form practiced by parents in class A1, which is characterized by a balance between giving
freedom and applying positive discipline. Second, democratic parenting has a positive effect
on the development of children's independence and self-confidence, as seen in their ability
to make simple decisions, dare to try new things, and show self-confidence. Third, factors
that influence the dynamics of independence and self-confidence, such as parents' education
level, type of work, and intensity of interaction with children, affect the parenting style
applied. In addition, collaboration between parents and teachers in school activities
strengthens the process of internalizing children's character values.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">649.1 Pola Asuh/Parenting</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2026-05-11</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA;FAKULTAS ILMU TARBIYAH DAN KEGURUAN</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Thesis</mods:genre></mets:xmlData></mets:mdWrap></mets:dmdSec><mets:amdSec ID="TMD_eprint_76667"><mets:rightsMD ID="rights_eprint_76667_mods"><mets:mdWrap MDTYPE="MODS"><mets:xmlData><mods:useAndReproduction>
