"Early childhood education is an important foundation in shaping children's\r\npersonalities and characters. At this stage, children are in a phase of development that is\r\nvery sensitive to stimuli from their environment, especially the family environment. Parents,\r\nas teachers at home, have a strategic role in shaping children's attitudes, behaviors, and\r\nbasic values, including independence and self-confidence. The parenting patterns applied by\r\nparents influence the process of internalizing the values instilled in children. This study aims\r\nto examine the dynamics of parenting patterns in internalizing the values of independence\r\nand self-confidence in children.\r\nThis study uses a qualitative approach and a case study research design. The research\r\nsubjects include five parents, one classroom teacher, and fifteen children. Data collection\r\ntechniques include in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Data\r\nanalysis techniques use the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes three\r\nstages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity testing uses\r\nsource and method triangulation techniques.\r\nThe results of the study show that: First, democratic parenting is the most dominant\r\nform practiced by parents in class A1, which is characterized by a balance between giving\r\nfreedom and applying positive discipline. Second, democratic parenting has a positive effect\r\non the development of children's independence and self-confidence, as seen in their ability\r\nto make simple decisions, dare to try new things, and show self-confidence. Third, factors\r\nthat influence the dynamics of independence and self-confidence, such as parents' education\r\nlevel, type of work, and intensity of interaction with children, affect the parenting style\r\napplied.
