PERSEPSI TENTANG KOMITMEN PERNIKAHAN PADA LAKI-LAKI USIA DEWASA AWAL YANG MENGALAMI FATHERLESS AKIBAT PERCERAIAN ORANG TUANIM.: 22107010003Nurul HusniauthorThis study aims to explore perceptions of marital commitment among early adult males who experience fatherlessness due to parental divorce and the factors influencing these perceptions. This research employed a qualitative phenomenological approach. The participants were three early adult males who experienced fatherlessness as a result of parental divorce. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and documentation. The findings indicate that parental divorce was primarily caused by economic factors accompanied by fathers’ egocentric behavior, lack of responsibility, abusive behavior, and infidelity. Fatherlessness following the divorce, in which participants were raised by their mothers, influenced their emotional experiences. Based on these experiences, participants perceived marital commitment as an important aspect of marriage. Two participants expressed a desire to build better marital commitment than their fathers, while one participant showed ambivalence between the need for marriage and fear of repeating negative parental experiences.
