This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method because it aims to obtain a deep understanding of fathers' experiences, views, and involvement in the process of instilling discipline in children within the family environment. The research subjects consisted of four fathers who have children aged 4–6 years and are directly involved in child-rearing
The data collection technique was carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation. The obtained data were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Through these stages, a picture is obtained regarding the role of fathers in instilling discipline in children aged 4–6 years along with supporting and inhibiting factors.
Research results show that the role of the father in instilling discipline in children is carried out through direct involvement in parenting, setting rules and boundaries, habituation in daily activities, as well as providing educational consequences. Children's discipline is formed gradually through a process of habituation and consistency in rule application. Supporting factors in instilling discipline include the father's involvement, availability of time with the child, and optimal time management. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include the father's work busyness, limited time, and children's responses such as rejection, neglect, and tantrums at the initial stage of rule implementation.
Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the discipline of early childhood can be formed through the active role of fathers in setting an example, guiding, and consistently applying rules and habits in daily life.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">370. 114 Pendidikan Moral, Pendidikan Karakter</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2026-05-25</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA;FAKULTAS ILMU TARBIYAH DAN KEGURUAN</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Thesis</mods:genre></mods:mods>
