cognitive learning outcomes on the topic of temperature. The Discovery Learning
model actively involves students in discovering concepts and solving learning
problems. This study aims to analyze improvements in students’ cognitive learning
outcomes on the topic of temperature, as well as the effectiveness of implementing
Discovery Learning supported by hypercontent e-modules.
This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental
design of the non-equivalent control group type. The study sample consisted of 29
students in the experimental class and 22 students in the control class, selected using
purposive sampling. The research instrument consists of 11 multiple-choice
questions that have been validated to measure cognitive learning outcomes through
pretests and posttests. The data were analyzed using the Mann–Whitney test, NGain
calculations, and effect size.
The results of the study indicate a significant difference in the improvement
of cognitive learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control
class, with a Mann–Whitney p-value of 0.018 (<0.05). The experimental class
achieved an N-Gain score of 0.71, classified as high, while the control class
achieved a score of 0.46, classified as moderate. Nevertheless, the effect size
calculation of 0.3 indicates that the impact of implementing Discovery Learning
supported by hypercontent e-modules falls into the small category. These findings
suggest that Discovery Learning supported by hypercontent e-modules is more
effective than expository learning in improving students’ cognitive learning
outcomes on the topic of temperature. However, its implementation still requires
further development to optimize the resulting learning effects.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">371.36 Metode Pengajaran, Metode Pembelajaran</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2026-05-19</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA;FAKULTAS ILMU TARBIYAH DAN KEGURUAN</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Thesis</mods:genre></mods:mods>
