bibo:abstract "This research was motivated by the limited availability\r\nof learning resources based on skeletal anatomy studies of\r\nvertebrate animals, particularly fish, at the senior high school\r\n(SMA/MA) level. The skeletal system of vertebrates is an\r\nessential topic in biology education that requires concrete and\r\ndetailed visual representations. Nile tilapia (Oreochromis\r\nniloticus) was selected as the research subject due to its wide\r\navailability, affordability, and relevance as a representative\r\nteleost fish with a complete and complex skeletal structure.\r\nThis study aimed to: (1) describe the skeletal anatomy of Nile\r\ntilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) systematically and in detail;\r\n(2) develop an anatomical atlas of the Nile tilapia skeleton as\r\na student learning resource; and (3) assess the feasibility of the\r\natlas as a biology learning resource at the senior high school\r\nlevel. This research integrated two methodological\r\napproaches: a descriptive qualitative approach for the skeletal\r\nanatomy study and a research and development (R&D)\r\napproach for atlas production. The research subject was Nile\r\ntilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) obtained from the local\r\nenvironment. Skeleton preparation was performed using the\r\nmaceration method to produce clean and intact bone\r\n\r\nspecimens. The feasibility assessment of the atlas was\r\nconducted in stages by a media expert, a subject matter expert,\r\na high school biology teacher, and peer reviewers, followed by\r\na limited trial involving 15 Grade XI students at SMA IT Abu\r\nBakar Yogyakarta using Likert-scale assessment instruments.\r\nThe results revealed that: (1) The skeleton of Nile\r\ntilapia is composed of two major divisions: the axial skeleton,\r\nencompassing the neurocranium, splanchnocranium (upper\r\nand lower jaws, hyoid apparatus, gill arches, and opercular\r\nseries), and the vertebral column (atlas vertebra, trunk\r\nvertebrae, and caudal vertebrae); and the appendicular\r\nskeleton, comprising the dorsal, anal, caudal, pectoral, and\r\npelvic fins along with all their supporting bones and radials;\r\n(2) The anatomical atlas of the Nile tilapia skeleton was\r\nsuccessfully developed as a printed medium containing direct\r\ndocumentation photographs from skeletal preparations, Latin\r\nnomenclature for each skeletal component, and systematic\r\ndescriptive annotations; (3) The atlas was declared highly\r\nfeasible as a biology learning resource, with feasibility scores\r\nof 81% (Feasible) from the media expert, 97% (Very Feasible)\r\nfrom the subject matter expert, 97% (Very Feasible) from the\r\nbiology teacher, 94% (Very Feasible) from peer reviewers, and\r\n89% (Very Feasible) from student practicality."^^xsd:string;
