In the emerging adulthood phase, victims of broken homes are at risk of difficulty in forming a positive self-concept due to family dysfunction and age-inappropriate responsibilities. This study aims to describe and analyze the components of self-concept among victims of broken homes in the emerging adulthood phase in Klancingan, Widodomartani, Ngemplak, Sleman. The research method used was a qualitative case-study approach with data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman model. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of two main subjects and triangulation informants. The results showed that both subjects experienced fluctuating self-concept dynamics (ups and downs) but were corrective towards parental failure. There was a phenomenon of parentification and role overload that caused physical exhaustion and interpersonal trauma in the form of fear of failure in starting future relationships.
