In the emerging adulthood phase, victims of broken homes are at risk of difficulty in forming a positive self-concept due to family dysfunction and age-inappropriate responsibilities. This study aims to describe and analyze the components of self-concept among victims of broken homes in the emerging adulthood phase in Klancingan, Widodomartani, Ngemplak, Sleman. The research method used was a qualitative case-study approach with data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman model. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of two main subjects and triangulation informants. The results showed that both subjects experienced fluctuating self-concept dynamics (ups and downs) but were corrective towards parental failure. There was a phenomenon of parentification and role overload that caused physical exhaustion and interpersonal trauma in the form of fear of failure in starting future relationships. However, financial independence and professional success were balancing factors in increasing self-esteem.
