      "abstract": "This research is motivated by the phenomenon of\r\ndeclining character traits of courtesy and tolerance in early\r\nchildhood in the digital era, influenced by technological\r\ndevelopments, gadget use, and changing patterns of social\r\ninteraction within the family and community. Generation Z\r\nparents, as a generation growing up in a digital environment,\r\nhave more open, flexible, and adaptive parenting\r\ncharacteristics, but also face challenges in instilling character\r\nvalues in their children. Therefore, this study aims to examine\r\nthe strategies of Generation Z parents in instilling character\r\ntraits of courtesy and tolerance in early childhood, the\r\nparenting styles they employ, and the factors that support and\r\nhinder this character development process.\r\nThis research uses a qualitative approach with a case\r\nstudy method. The research subjects consisted of five\r\nGeneration Z parents and five young children in Palupi\r\nVillage, Palu City, Central Sulawesi. Data collection\r\ntechniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and\r\ndocumentation. Data analysis was conducted through data\r\nreduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.\r\nThe results show that Generation Z parents' strategies\r\nfor instilling politeness and tolerance in young children\r\ninvolve three main strategies: positive communication, role\r\nmodeling, and habituation. Positive communication involves\r\nspeaking gently, explaining rules, and demonstrating empathy\r\ntoward children. Modeling is demonstrated through examples\r\nof polite and tolerant behavior in daily life. Habituation is\r\n\r\nfostered through daily routines such as greeting, speaking\r\npolitely, sharing, and respecting others. The dominant\r\nparenting styles are authoritative and authoritarian. Supporting\r\nfactors in character development include consistent rules,\r\nparental role modeling, and parental involvement in children's\r\nactivities. Inhibiting factors include the influence of gadgets,\r\nlimited parental time, and the child's social environment. Thus,\r\nthe success of instilling good manners and tolerance in early\r\nchildhood is greatly influenced by appropriate parenting\r\nstrategies, consistent parenting styles, and positive\r\nenvironmental support.",
