aims to analyze the role of librarians in providing and managing inclusive
information access services for students with disabilities, as well as
identifying obstacles and efforts made to improve the quality of these
services. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods.
Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews,
observation, and documentation. Informants in this study consisted of
librarians, students with disabilities, and related parties within the UIN
Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Library. Data analysis was carried out through
the process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.
The results of the study indicate that the role of librarians in managing
information access services for students with disabilities is as a provider of
information services for students with disabilities, mediator (intermediary) of
information services for students with disabilities, utilization of accessible
technology for students with disabilities, and creating inclusive services. The
obstacles faced by librarians in providing inclusive information services for
students with disabilities are not all librarians master sign language and
special collections for students with disabilities are still limited. Furthermore,
efforts made by the library include improving technology-based services,
strengthening cooperation with the Disability Service Center (PLD),
involving volunteers, and developing facilities and programs to support
accessibility. Based on the analysis using the IFLA Checklist Theory and
Talcott Parsons' AGIL Theory, the library has demonstrated a commitment to
inclusive services, but still requires strengthening in the aspects of HR
competency, program sustainability, and service integration.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">023.2 Librarian/Pustakawan</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2026-05-22</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA;PASCASARJANA</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Thesis</mods:genre></mods:mods>
