        abstract = {A common fixed point is a concept concerning the existence of a fixed point
for two or more mappings. The existence and uniqueness of a common fixed point
can be established if the given mappings satisfy certain conditions in a complete
metric space. This thesis analyzes the uniqueness of a common fixed point for two
mappings that satisfy the contractive- ({\ensuremath{\theta}}, {\ensuremath{\tau}} ) and contractive-({\ensuremath{\psi}}, {\ensuremath{\tau}} ) conditions in a
complete metric space, assuming that the mappings are asymptotically regular and
q-continuous or orbit-continuous. In the final section of this thesis, examples are
provided to illustrate the results of the analysis.}
