for two or more mappings. The existence and uniqueness of a common fixed point&#13;
can be established if the given mappings satisfy certain conditions in a complete&#13;
metric space. This thesis analyzes the uniqueness of a common fixed point for two&#13;
mappings that satisfy the contractive- (θ, τ ) and contractive-(ψ, τ ) conditions in a&#13;
complete metric space, assuming that the mappings are asymptotically regular and&#13;
q-continuous or orbit-continuous. In the final section of this thesis, examples are&#13;
