This situation has given rise to an identity crisis that is not only psychological and social, but also spiritual, due to the imbalance between the physical and spiritual dimensions of human existence. This study aims to analyze Generation Z's identity crisis and offer a framework for resolving it through a Sufi perspective, emphasizing the harmonious relationship between the physical and spiritual aspects. This research is a qualitative study with a psycho-Sufi approach. The data were obtained through a literature review of classical Sufi works, particularly the thoughts of al-Ghazālī, Ibn ‘Arabī, and Jalāluddīn Rūmī. They were then analyzed descriptively and analytically through the framework of human existential needs, understood in stages from a Sufi perspective, using binary concepts such as lahūt–nāsūt, ‘ālam al-khalq and ‘ālam al-amr, and the relationship of ṣūrah wa ma‘nā, which are used to interpret the phenomenon of identity crisis in the context of Generation Z’s digital life. The results of the study indicate that the root of Generation Z’s identity crisis lies in the dominance of external orientations in the form of digital self-image, symbolic achievement, and social recognition that are not balanced by strengthening spiritual awareness. Sufism offers a solution through spiritual reconstruction that emphasizes tazkiyat al-nafs, muḥāsabah, self-awareness, and a transcendental orientation towards the meaning of life. The integration of the outer and inner dimensions forms an authentic, stable, and divinely oriented identity.
