        <dc:description>The Kartini Reactor is one of Indonesia’s research reactors that has the potential to&#13;
release radionuclides into the environment via the air under normal operating&#13;
conditions. These airborne radioactive releases can result in radiation exposure for the&#13;
community surrounding the reactor facility; therefore, a radiation safety assessment&#13;
based on estimated received doses is necessary. This study aims to determine the source&#13;
term value, model wind direction and speed profiles, and calculate the Total Effective&#13;
Dose Equivalent (TEDE) resulting from radionuclide releases through the atmosphere&#13;
under normal operating conditions. The research was conducted based on data from&#13;
the 2019 Kartini Reactor Safety Analysis Report (LAK) and meteorological data for&#13;
the 2023–2025 period. Analysis of wind direction and speed profiles was performed&#13;
using WRPlot View software to obtain the dominant wind direction and speed patterns&#13;
in the form of a wind rose diagram, while dose calculations were performed using&#13;
HotSpot 3.0.2 software based on the Gaussian Plume model. The results of the study&#13;
indicate that the average wind speed is 3.48 m/s, with the dominant wind direction&#13;
originating from the West-Southwest (WSW) at an azimuth ranging from 236.25° to&#13;
258.75°. The highest TEDE value obtained was 0,293 mSv under Type C atmospheric&#13;
stability conditions (slightly unstable). This value remains below the dose constraint&#13;
for the public living near nuclear facilities, which is 0,3 mSv. This indicates that the&#13;
optimized air radioactivity release limit still meets safety criteria based on the dose&#13;
constraint established by the regulatory body, BAPETEN. Therefore, this air&#13;
radioactivity release limit is recommended for use as the air radioactivity discharge&#13;
limit for the Kartini Reactor under normal operating conditions.</dc:description>
