garment industry, particularly in the sewing department with high production
demands and limited time. This study aims to identify the highest dimensions, levels,
and relationship between mental workload and work stress among sewing
department employees across three activities, namely thumb sewing (A), hand body
sewing (B), and velcro and logo sewing (C) at PT XYZ, using a quantitative method
with NASA-TLX and HSE-WRSS instruments involving 20 respondents per activity.
Results showed that Temporal Demand was consistently the highest mental
workload dimension across all activities with average scores of 77.5, 71.5, and
70.5. The Control dimension recorded the highest work stress in Activities A (4.58)
and B (4.61), while the Role dimension was highest in Activity C (4.33). Mental
workload levels in Activities A and B were classified as high with scores of 63.47
and 61.18, while Activity C was moderate with 59.40. Work stress across all
activities was classified as moderate with scores of 139.15, 132.40, and 137.80. A
significant and positive relationship between mental workload and work stress was
confirmed through simple linear regression in Activity A (Sig. 0.023; R²=0.254) and
Spearman Rho correlation in Activities B (r=0.734) and C (r=0.741), both
categorized as strong.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">670 Teknik Industri</mods:classification><mods:originInfo><mods:dateIssued encoding="iso8061">2026-05-26</mods:dateIssued></mods:originInfo><mods:originInfo><mods:publisher>UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA;FAKULTAS SAINS DAN TEKNOLOGI</mods:publisher></mods:originInfo><mods:genre>Thesis</mods:genre></mods:mods>
