In its operation, the machine frequently experiences problems such as reduced operating speed, temporary stoppages, and component failures, resulting in suboptimal machine effectiveness. In addition, the maintenance system applied is still corrective maintenance, where repairs are carried out only after failures occur. This study aims to measure machine effectiveness using the OEE method, identify losses based on Six Big Losses, analyze root causes using a Fishbone Diagram, calculate MTTF and MTTR, and propose improvement recommendations based on TPM. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach with data collected from January to March 2026 through observation, interviews, documentation, and operational data recording. The results showed that the average availability value was 85.41%, performance was 48.91%, quality was 97.51%, and the OEE value was 40.71%, indicating that the machine effectiveness was still not optimal. The largest losses were reduced speed losses at 51.09% and idling and minor stoppages at 10.53%. Fishbone analysis showed that the dominant causes included loose belts, unstable diesel engine performance, repeated polishing processes, inconsistent moisture content of raw materials, the absence of standard operating procedures and measuring instruments, and dusty working conditions. The MTTF and MTTR calculations showed that the belt was the most critical component, with an MTTF of 8.37 hours and an MTTR of 14.20 minutes.
