The study was motivated by the high level of operators’ work activity, which has the potential to cause work-related fatigue and affect safe work behavior in an industrial setting. The objectives of this study were to identify the level of operators’ physical workload, measure the level of operators’ safe behavior, and determine the significance of the effect of physical workload on safe behavior. The study employed a quantitative approach using the Cardiovascular Load (CVL) method to measure physical workload and a Likert scale questionnaire to measure safe behavior. The study sample consisted of 20 operators from the Mill 2 section. Data analysis techniques included validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and simple linear regression analysis using SPSS. The results showed that the majority of operators fell into the light workload category (75%), the moderate category (20%), and the heavy category (5%). The safe behavior measurement results indicated that the majority of operators were in the very good category (60%), the good category (35%), and the fair category (5%). A simple linear regression analysis indicates that physical workload has a significant effect on safe behavior, with a p-value of 0.000 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.703. The resulting regression equation is Y = 161.709 – 1.474X, indicating a negative relationship between physical workload and safe behavior.
