bibo:abstract "This study examines the understanding and implementation of the\r\nkafa'ah concept\r\nin marriage among the people of Jaya Sakti Village, Anak Tuha District, Central\r\nLampung Regency. Kafa'ah is a concept of equality between prospective spouses\r\naimed at creating a harmonious household. This study aims to determine the\r\ncommun ity's level of understanding of the kafa'ah concept, its application, and its\r\nimplementation in building a harmonious family.\r\nThis study uses qualitative methods with an empirical approach to analyze the\r\napplication of the kafa'ah concept in marriage among the people of Jaya Sakti\r\nVillage. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews,\r\nobservation, and documentation with local community and religious leaders. The\r\ndata obtained were then analyzed descriptively qualitatively to describe the soc ial\r\nreality and patterns of community understanding regarding kafa'ah. The\r\ntheoretical framework in this study uses the social construction theory of Peter L.\r\nBerger and Thomas Luckmann, which explains how society's understanding of the\r\nconcept of kafa'ah is formed through the processes of externalization,\r\nobjectivation, and internalization in social life. This theory is used to understand\r\nhow the concept of kafa'ah in Islamic law, which emphasizes the equivalence of\r\npartners in terms of education, religion , lineage, and wealth, is applied and\r\ninterpreted by society in choosing a life partner.\r\nThe results of the study indicate that the understanding of the Jaya Sakti Village\r\ncommunity towards kafa'ah is the result of a social construction process that\r\norigin ates from customary values. The application of kafa'ah in Jaya Sakti Village\r\nis not absolute, but is an important consideration in choosing a partner, with\r\neducation as the most dominant factor (47%), religion (33%), and property and\r\nlineage (20%). The imp lementation of kafa'ah in Jaya Sakti Village has been\r\nproven to have relevance to the formation of a harmonious family. Thus, the\r\nconcept of kafa'ah remains relevant in modern society and plays an important role\r\nin maintaining household harmony, even thoug h it has undergone adjustments\r\naccording to local socio cultural conditions."^^xsd:string;
