This registration is an important step to ensure legal certainty regarding the status of waqf assets and prevent future disputes or misuse. This study aims to determine and analyze the implementation of Article 32 of Law Number 41 of 2004 concerning the registration of waqf assets at the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Yogyakarta City, as well as to identify obstacles encountered in its implementation. This study uses an empirical legal research method with a sociological juridical approach. Data were obtained through interviews with the Yogyakarta City Ministry of Religious Affairs and a documentation study of laws and regulations and documents related to waqf registration. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of Article 32 of Law Number 41 of 2004 at the Yogyakarta City Ministry of Religious Affairs has, in principle, been carried out in accordance with the provisions of the laws and regulations. However, in practice, several obstacles are still encountered, including low awareness among nazhir and wakif regarding the registration of waqf assets, limited completeness of administrative documents, and a lack of public understanding regarding the importance of waqf registration. Therefore, increased socialization, mentoring, and coordination between related agencies to optimize the registration of waqf assets in order to achieve certainty and legal protection for waqf. This study concludes that the effectiveness of the implementation of Article 32 of Law No. 41 of 2004 in the Yogyakarta Ministry of Religious Affairs is greatly influenced by derivative regulatory factors, legal socialization, the capacity of the waqf administrators, and coordination between related institutions.
