This uniqueness is not only\r\nseen from the existence of myths that have developed in the community, but also\r\nfrom various traditions that reflect elements of local culture that are still influenced\r\nby animism and dynamism. The sacred values and specialness inherent in Asta\r\nTotale make it a religious tourism destination that has spiritual significance for the\r\ncommunity. Therefore, Asta Totale is known as one of the locations considered\r\nsacred and holds an important position in the social life of the local community.\r\nThis condition prompted the research on \"Asta Totale as a Social Construction of\r\nthe Lapa Laok Village Community, Sumenep Regency.\"\r\nThis research is a field study that focuses on how the Lapa Laok Village\r\ncommunity forms their understanding and social views regarding the existence of\r\nAsta Totale. The purpose of this study is to describe how the social construction of\r\nsociety and the influence of Asta Totale traditions. The method used is qualitative\r\nresearch with a sociological approach that refers to Peter L. Berger's social\r\nconstruction theory. This approach is used to understand various social phenomena\r\nrelated to traditions, myths, and beliefs regarding the sacredness of Asta Totale.\r\nThe researcher believes that the social reality that develops in society does not arise\r\nfrom a single factor, but rather is the result of the interaction of various social\r\nelements that influence each other.\r\nAccording to the researchers' observations, the sacredness of Asta Totale\r\nin Lapa Laok Village is shaped by several main factors. First, the tradition of\r\npilgrimage that has been carried out for generations gives the practice social\r\nlegitimacy and is deeply embedded in community life. Second, Asta Totale holds\r\nsignificant meaning for the community, especially the pilgrims, because it is\r\nbelieved to be connected to supernatural powers that are part of their belief system.\r\nThis belief then positions Asta Totale as a symbol that is considered sacred. Third,\r\nthe existence of myths that are continuously passed down from generation to\r\ngeneration also strengthens the existence of this tradition. The community believes\r\nthat myths play a role in maintaining and legitimizing the various practices that\r\ndevelop around Asta Totale.\r\nIn the process of social institutionalization, the function of myths is not\r\nlimited to maintaining traditions but also shapes various societal perceptions and\r\nbeliefs. Myths contribute to building an understanding of the relationship between\r\nhumans and the environment, interactions between religious communities, and the\r\nsocial diversity that exists within society.
