This research begins with the phenomenon of current education which focuses more on learning achievement, technical skills, and material success, but pays less attention to spiritual aspects and character formation based on good values. This condition indicates the need for education that combines various aspects, which not only makes the mind smarter, but also cleanses the heart and forms a complete personality. This research uses library methods with a qualitative and analytical approach. The main source of this research is the book Iḥyā' 'Ulūm al-Dīn, especially the part that discusses maḥabbah. This research was conducted using the content analysis method to understand the conceptual meaning, structure of thought, as well as the theological and ethical impact of the concept of maḥabbah from al-Ghazālī's perspective. Secondary data was obtained from classic Sufism books and research on love-based curricula so that the analysis of interpretation and context is stronger. Maḥabbah in al-Ghazālī's thought is a spiritual level that arises from deep knowledge of Allāh and is the culmination of a person's inner journey. Love is not only defined as a feeling, but as a direction of life that moves all human abilities, brain, heart and actions to do good and obey. This concept has a unified dimension, combining the aspects of thinking, feeling, and spirituality into one complete value. In the world of education, maḥabbah has a significant influence as the basis for teaching relationships, enthusiasm for learning, and the formation of attitudes and skills. Therefore, the concept of maḥabbah can be used as a philosophical basis for a Love-Based Curriculum, where the value of love is at the center of change in the world of education. This research shows that al-Ghazālī's thoughts are still relevant from an epistemological and practical perspective in shaping a more humane and transcendent Islamic educational paradigm, focused on developing perfect human beings amidst the challenges of the modern era. %Z Dr. Waryani Fajar Riyanto, S.H.I., M.Ag.
