This problem is understood as being rooted in the weakening of human spiritual awareness. The concept of modernity has given rise to a materialistic worldview that places nature merely as an object of exploitation without considering humanity’s obligation as khalifah (vicegerent of God on earth). Ecotheology brings forth an awareness to understand the triadic relationship between God, humans, and nature as an interconnected bond. In ecotheological relations, God as the Creator becomes the ethical-theological foundation for humans, who act as Allah’s representatives on earth, to preserve nature. At Pondok Pesantren ISC ASWAJA Lintang Songo, ecotheological values are implemented through various activities. Activities such as agriculture and animal husbandry emphasize principles of balance and sustainability in accordance with the moral responsibility of a khalifah. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method to describe and interpret the object of study according to field conditions. The research questions focus on identifying the forms of understanding ecotheological values, as well as the integration of these values and their practical implementation within Pondok Pesantren ISC ASWAJA Lintang Songo. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis and validation involve data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The theoretical framework used in this study is Abdul Mustaqim’s theory of ecotheological relations between God, humans, and nature. The integration of ecotheological values is carried out through ethical-theological principles such as Al‘Adalah (justice), Al-Tawazun (balance), Al-Intifa’ wa dun Al-Fasad (utilization without destruction), and Al-Ri‘ayah duna Al-Israf (care without excessiveness). Concerns regarding the environmental crisis become the responsibility of humans as khalifah. Ecotheological values originate from the vertical relationship between humans and God, as well as from the proper ways of preserving nature in accordance with ethical-theological principles.
