The purpose of this study is to determine how the implementation of performance management using the SMART method at the Daruu Hira Maguwoharjo Islamic Boarding School in managing this balance. This study uses a qualitative field method with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, direct observation, and documentation with Kiai, musyrif, and student administrators. The results show that the boarding school has implemented the SMART method well to organize student activities. The objectives of the guidance are made very clear (specific) through seven targets for guidance directions. Success is measured (measurable) through a minimum attendance requirement of 60% and routine assessment activities (muhasabah) at the end of the semester. The workload is designed to be achievable through a clear division of tasks and a schedule that does not burden lectures, although in practice it is still hampered by a lack of discipline and laziness of students. The guidance approach is also very relevant to the needs of students, as evidenced by the role of guidance that positions itself as a family and the existence of support programs that are appropriate to the times such as life coaching. All activities are monitored with a clear time limit (time-bound) starting from weekly evaluations every Monday morning to monthly meetings, which are then followed up with sanctions ranging from warnings to revocation of scholarships, or additional scholarship prizes to maintain the enthusiasm and responsibility of students.&#13;
