      "abstract": "This study aims to identify the various roles of peer groups in enhancing the\r\nlearning motivation of ninth-grade students at SMP Piri 1 Yogyakarta.The study is\r\nmotivated by the importance of the influence of peers in providing support,\r\nencouragement, and a positive learning environment for students.\r\nThis study employed a descriptive qualitative method with two ninth-grade\r\nstudents as research subjects and a Guidance and Counseling (BK) teacher as a\r\nsupporting informant. Data collection techniques included interviews,\r\nobservations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data\r\nreduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.\r\nThe results of the study indicate that peer groups play a significant role in\r\nenhancing the learning motivation of ninth-grade students at SMP Piri 1\r\nYogyakarta through six aspects, namely: (1) social, moral, and emotional support;\r\n(2) social skills development; (3) agents of socialization; (4) sources of information\r\nand advice; (5) identity formation and self-concept; and (6) sources of status and a\r\nsense of belonging.",
