ID - digilib77145 UR - https://digilib.uin-suka.ac.id/id/eprint/77145/ A1 - Nur Azmi Rofiqoh, NIM.: 22102020045 Y1 - 2026/06/03/ N2 - This study aims to identify the various roles of peer groups in enhancing the learning motivation of ninth-grade students at SMP Piri 1 Yogyakarta.The study is motivated by the importance of the influence of peers in providing support, encouragement, and a positive learning environment for students. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method with two ninth-grade students as research subjects and a Guidance and Counseling (BK) teacher as a supporting informant. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that peer groups play a significant role in enhancing the learning motivation of ninth-grade students at SMP Piri 1 Yogyakarta through six aspects, namely: (1) social, moral, and emotional support; (2) social skills development; (3) agents of socialization; (4) sources of information and advice; (5) identity formation and self-concept; and (6) sources of status and a sense of belonging.
