      "abstract": "The phenomenon of early marriage remains a serious issue requiring attention, as\r\ncouples who marry before the age of 19—often due to pregnancy—tend to lack the\r\nemotional readiness needed to navigate married life. This situation has the\r\npotential to lead to conflict and even divorce, making marriage counseling essential\r\nto help build the couples’ emotional intelligence. This study focuses on the research\r\nquestion regarding the stages of marriage counseling to build emotional\r\nintelligence in early-marriage couples at the Kotagede Yogyakarta KUA. The study\r\naims to identify and describe the stages of marriage counseling to build emotional\r\nintelligence in early-marriage couples at the Kotagede Yogyakarta KUA. This study\r\nemploys a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects\r\nconsist of the head of the KUA, religious counselors, and young married couples.\r\nData were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then\r\nanalyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data\r\npresentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that\r\nmarriage counseling at the Kotagede Yogyakarta KUA is conducted in three stages:\r\nthe registration stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage.",
