Not all children have the same opportunity to gain attachment to their parents in a family parenting environment. Social problems such as poverty, neglect, divorce, or loss of parents make children unable to receive optimal family care. Children can get alternative parenting in an orphanage environment. Through the existence of caregivers in the orphanage, children are able to get an attached figure who is able to be a substitute for their parents. This study has novelty in terms of the characteristics of the selection of informants with an age range of 8-18 years at the Putri 'Aisyiyah Orphanage Yogyakarta. Using a qualitative research method of case studies, through in-depth and semi-structured interviews with a total of 6 informants, consisting of 3 foster children and 3 caregivers. In addition, observation and documentation were also carried out to add and strengthen the data of the research results. The results of the study showed that the attachment pattern formed between the child and the caregiver was a secure attachment pattern and an avoidance type insecure attachment pattern. This pattern is illustrated through the aspects of trust, communication, and alienation. The factors that form attachment come from internal factors including the child's age, personality, and self-acceptance. As well as external factors that include the role of caregivers, family social support, and the social environment of the orphanage.
