      "abstract": "The ideal institution of marriage in Islamic teachings is based on the\r\nprinciples of sakinah (love, affection, and compassion), as the foundation of family\r\nresilience. However, reality shows that many households face conflicts that if left\r\nunaddressed, threaten harmony and can lead to divorce. The Religious Affairs\r\nOffice (KUA), as an extension of the government, plays a crucial role in resolving\r\nthese conflicts through religious counselors. This study aims to determine the role\r\nof religious counselors in resolving domestic conflict at the North Binjai KUA,\r\nBinjai City. The method used was descriptive qualitative research. The primary\r\nsubjects were religious counselors and supporting subjects included the Head of\r\nthe KUA and two married couples who had received counseling. Data collection\r\nwas conducted through interviews.\r\nThe results indicate that religious counselors have five roles in resolving\r\ndomestic conflict: inspirator, motivator, stabilizer, dynamicator, and facilitator. As\r\nan inspiration, counselors provide guidance and role models for building a\r\nharmonious family. As motivators, counselors encourage married couples to\r\nmaintain their marriage. As stabilizers, counselors maintain a conducive and\r\nneutral atmosphere during mediation. As dynamic agents, counselors help create\r\npositive change in couples' relationships. As facilitators, counselors provide\r\nguidance, consultation, and mediation services to resolve domestic conflicts.",
