Digital technology has become an inseparable part of early childhood life; therefore, proper guidance and utilization are needed in order to provide positive impacts on children’s development. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of the principal, teachers, parents, and students. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was tested using source and technique triangulation. The results of this study indicate that: (1) teachers’ strategies in utilizing digital technology to develop children’s independence were implemented through the provision of IT facilities in classrooms, the use of digital learning media, collaboration with parents, and habituation of independent activities for children; (2) the challenges faced in utilizing digital technology included lack of parental supervision, excessive gadget use among children, and limited teacher competence in technology use; and (3) the efforts made by teachers to overcome these challenges included conducting technology training for teachers, providing counseling for parents, limiting gadget use among children, and strengthening communication between schools and parents in assisting children. The directed and well-controlled use of digital technology was found to help children improve their sense of responsibility, discipline, and ability to carry out simple activities independently.
