This condition creates a need for community preparedness and awareness in facing potential industrial disasters. This study aims to determine the efforts and results of strengthening community awareness in addressing industrial disaster risk through the Pemuda Tangguh Bencana (PETA) program. The method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation, and data analysis using the Miles and Huberman model. The results indicate that awareness raising efforts were carried out through several stages: initial locatin identification, a community-based disaster risk management approach, training and capacity building, and the establishment of the Forum Pengurangan Risiko Bencana (FPRB). Based on Paulo Freire’s theory of levels of awareness, the community shows a shift from magical awareness to critical awareness in facing industrial disaster risk. Based on the KAP Model (Knowledge, Attitude, Practice) the result of this awareness raising effort indicate an increase in community understanding of industrial disaster risk and changes in community attitudes and preparedness in facing potential disasters. Pemuda Tangguh Bencana (PETA) program not only increases community understanding of risk but also fosters preparedness and concrete actions in emergency situations.
