Syahid Abdillah Rosid, NIM.: 22102030099 305.3 Gender This research is motivated by the importance of strengthening gender equality in Islamic educational institutions, particularly pesantren, which still face patriarchal cultural challenges, limited spaces for women's participation, and the need for strategies aligned with Islamic values. This study aims to explain the strategies implemented by Pondok Pesantren Daarunnajah Center Yogyakarta to improve gender equality and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in their implementation. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while informants were selected purposively based on their involvement in pesantren leadership, madrasah management, dormitory organization, learning activities, and student experiences. The findings show that gender equality is promoted through structural and institutional transformation, capacity building through microteaching, expanded access and participation for female students in decision-making forums, transformative leadership by the caretaker, the internalization of religious values through learning activities, and proportional negotiation between pesantren tradition and modernity. Supporting factors include visionary leadership, an inclusive organizational culture, and equal learning opportunities for male and female students. Inhibiting factors include coordination problems, residual patriarchal norms, and low self-confidence among some female students.
