      "abstract": "This research is motivated by the importance of strengthening gender equality in\r\nIslamic educational institutions, particularly pesantren, which still face patriarchal\r\ncultural challenges, limited spaces for women's participation, and the need for\r\nstrategies aligned with Islamic values. This study aims to explain the strategies\r\nimplemented by Pondok Pesantren Daarunnajah Center Yogyakarta to improve\r\ngender equality and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in their\r\nimplementation. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a case\r\nstudy approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and\r\ndocumentation, while informants were selected purposively based on their\r\ninvolvement in pesantren leadership, madrasah management, dormitory\r\norganization, learning activities, and student experiences. The findings show that\r\ngender equality is promoted through structural and institutional transformation,\r\ncapacity building through microteaching, expanded access and participation for\r\nfemale students in decision-making forums, transformative leadership by the\r\ncaretaker, the internalization of religious values through learning activities, and\r\nproportional negotiation between pesantren tradition and modernity. Supporting\r\nfactors include visionary leadership, an inclusive organizational culture, and equal\r\nlearning opportunities for male and female students. Inhibiting factors include\r\ncoordination problems, residual patriarchal norms, and low self-confidence among\r\nsome female students. Therefore, gender mainstreaming in this pesantren is carried\r\nout gradually through structural, cultural, and theological approaches grounded in\r\nIslamic teachings.",
