Pb is toxic, not easily decomposed, and can accumulate in organisms through water and the food chain.. This study treats Pb2+ metal using an adsorption method that uses red dragon fruit peel as a biosorbent. The objectives of this study were to determine the characteristics of the functional groups of activated charcoal from red dragon fruit peel before and after activation through FTIR testing, the degree of crystallinity through XRD testing, the optimum conditions for pH and contact time variations, and the adsorption isotherm patterns used in adsorbing Pb2+ metal. The production of biosorbents was carried out through carbonization and activation processes using NaOH activator.
