The writing system, which used the Javanese script, evolved with the Arabic script, adapted to reflect Javanese sounds, and was named the Pegon script. This script can be found in manuscripts containing information. To preserve the authenticity of a text, one method is to transcribe it into a computer or convert it into a digital format while maintaining the authenticity of the source text. However, sometimes errors can occur during the transcription process. This can be addressed by using a cyclic code to detect and correct transcription errors. The construction of the cyclic code and its correspondence with the Pegon script is carried out before it is used for detection and correction. This study employed a qualitative method by collecting various sources of literature to construct the cyclic code and document the types of Pegon script. There are 21 letters and 6 phonetic symbols. When converted into binary digits, this results in 5-bits for letters and 3-bits for phonetic symbols; thus, a single letter with its phonetic symbol occupies 8-bits. In the detection and correction, for a single block consisting of 4 letters and 4 phonetic symbols, there is a 4×7 generator matrix PB - UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA KW - aksara Pegon; decoding; encoding; kode siklik M1 - skripsi TI - KODE SIKLIK UNTUK MENDETEKSI DAN MENGOREKSI KESALAHAN PENULISAN AKSARA PEGON AV - restricted EP - 117 ER -
