        <dc:description>This research is motivated by parental care for children in terms of&#13;
children's emotional development especially this is focused on children who have&#13;
single parents only. Parenting patterns have an important influence on the emotional&#13;
development of children. Where emotional development is the most dominant factor&#13;
in influencing future success, by teaching children emotional skills they will be better&#13;
able to overcome various problems. There are three main focuses in this research.&#13;
First, single parent parenting for children. Second, how is the emotional development&#13;
of children raised by single parents. Third, the impact of single parent parenting on&#13;
children's emotional development.&#13;
This research is qualitative in nature, revealing in detail about MI Quraniah&#13;
8 Palembang in single parent parenting. The object of this research is how single&#13;
parent parenting on children's emotional development is parents, students, and&#13;
teachers. To answer this question, data were collected by means of observation,&#13;
interviews and documentation. Observations focused on teacher guidance in the&#13;
learning process. Interviews focused on parenting and emotional development of&#13;
children and documentation focused on supporting evidence for children.&#13;
The results of the study obtained field data, namely: (1) first, the researcher&#13;
found that each parent had a different parenting pattern according to the rules at&#13;
home. Second, parents who apply authoritarian parenting tend to be firm and force&#13;
their children. Third, parents who apply democratic parenting can be more familiar&#13;
with their children than parents who apply authoritarian and permassive parenting.&#13;
(2) From the results of interviews with single parents, there were two parents who&#13;
complained that their children were difficult to study with, that's why the parents&#13;
gave their children learning and playing time rules. However, what about parents&#13;
who give freedom to their children because according to him the child is grown and&#13;
can regulate his own pattern of life. (3) the results of the interview show that the&#13;
impact of parenting on children's emotional development can reduce the child's selfconfidence&#13;
if parents apply authoritarian parenting but do not make children do&#13;
dangerous things.</dc:description>
