      "abstract": "This research is motivated by parental care for children in terms of\r\nchildren's emotional development especially this is focused on children who have\r\nsingle parents only. Parenting patterns have an important influence on the emotional\r\ndevelopment of children. Where emotional development is the most dominant factor\r\nin influencing future success, by teaching children emotional skills they will be better\r\nable to overcome various problems. There are three main focuses in this research.\r\nFirst, single parent parenting for children. Second, how is the emotional development\r\nof children raised by single parents. Third, the impact of single parent parenting on\r\nchildren's emotional development.\r\nThis research is qualitative in nature, revealing in detail about MI Quraniah\r\n8 Palembang in single parent parenting. The object of this research is how single\r\nparent parenting on children's emotional development is parents, students, and\r\nteachers. To answer this question, data were collected by means of observation,\r\ninterviews and documentation. Observations focused on teacher guidance in the\r\nlearning process. Interviews focused on parenting and emotional development of\r\nchildren and documentation focused on supporting evidence for children.\r\nThe results of the study obtained field data, namely: (1) first, the researcher\r\nfound that each parent had a different parenting pattern according to the rules at\r\nhome. Second, parents who apply authoritarian parenting tend to be firm and force\r\ntheir children. Third, parents who apply democratic parenting can be more familiar\r\nwith their children than parents who apply authoritarian and permassive parenting.\r\n(2) From the results of interviews with single parents, there were two parents who\r\ncomplained that their children were difficult to study with, that's why the parents\r\ngave their children learning and playing time rules. However, what about parents\r\nwho give freedom to their children because according to him the child is grown and\r\ncan regulate his own pattern of life. (3) the results of the interview show that the\r\nimpact of parenting on children's emotional development can reduce the child's selfconfidence\r\nif parents apply authoritarian parenting but do not make children do\r\ndangerous things.",
