%T TANTANGAN DAN STRATEGI EDITOR DALAM PENGELOLAAN JURNAL ILMIAH: STUDI KASUS PADA JURNAL ADABIYYAT FAKULTAS ADAB DAN ILMU BUDAYA UIN SUNAN KALIJAGA YOGYAKARTA
%X This study aims to examine the challenges faced by editors in managing scientific journals and the strategies employed to overcome them. The research focuses on Jurnal Adabiyyat of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, which concentrates on the fields of language, literature, translation, and philology. A descriptive qualitative research method was used, with data collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The research informants consisted of the editor-in-chief, editors, and the online journal manager of Jurnal Adabiyyat. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Research results shows that the editor is facing challenges in four main categories , namely: 1) challenges technical, such as OJS management that has not been fully mastered. The strategy is carried out with internal training and division role technical in a way systematic; (2) challenge substance, maintain quality manuscript and reviewer. The strategy is carried out through selection strict manuscript and active communication with peer reviewers; (3) administrative challenges, editors' time and workload, funding, and accreditation. Strategies implemented with management more efficient time, implementing fundraising for manuscripts that have passed selection and are ready rise as well as involvement team in accreditation documentation; and (4) ethical challenges, such as conflict interests and uses of AI. Strategies implemented through understanding on publication ethics as well as use of tools such as turnitin for detecting plagiarism. This study concludes that the success of scientific journal management is largely determined by the editor's capability in overcoming challenge technical, substantial, administrative, and ethical. This research also provides contribution to the literature journal management in Indonesia.
