This study compares two characters who have experienced the same traumatic experiences that have an impact on the victims' psychology, even though they experienced the same traumatic event, it is likely that their responses to its impact will differ. The subjects being compared in this study are the character Patrick in the film Spotlight (2015) and the character Zahra in the film Qorin (2022). Both share similarities in terms of the cause of their trauma, but they express different impacts of the trauma, particularly in terms of their psychological well-being and faith. To analyze this research, a qualitative descriptive method was used to analyze the representation of trauma in films, using Jennifer J. Freyd's Betrayal Trauma theory and Saroglou's framework on religious dimensions to examine the extent to which the impact of sexual abuse trauma affects the lives of victims, particularly in psychological aspects that influence faith. The results of this study confirm that betrayal trauma in the context of sexual violence by religious authorities can impact the psychological well-being of victims. However, its influence on their faith or spirituality can vary. Additionally, environmental factors in each film also play a significant role in the victims' struggles and recovery processes.
