      "abstract": "Culinary and cultural tourism at Pasar Kebon Empring is one of the communitybased\r\ntourism destinations that has developed through the active involvement of the\r\nlocal community in tourism management, cultural preservation, and the\r\ndevelopment of local culinary businesses. The success of this tourism destination\r\nshows that community empowerment is an important factor in creating economic\r\nbenefits while maintaining the sustainability of local potential. Pasar Kebon\r\nEmpring, located in Srimulyo Village, Piyungan District, Bantul Regency, serves\r\nas a community-based tourism destination that integrates traditional culinary\r\npotential, local culture, and community participation in its management. This study\r\nemployed a descriptive qualitative method with informants consisting of managers,\r\nMSME actors, local residents, and visitors selected through purposive sampling.\r\nData were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, validated\r\nusing source and technique triangulation, and analyzed using the Miles and\r\nHuberman model through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.\r\nThe results show that community economic empowerment was carried out through\r\nfive dimensions of empowerment: 1) enabling through the creation of business\r\nopportunities, utilization of local potential, and community involvement in tourism\r\nmanagement; 2) empowering through training and capacity building for MSME\r\nactors; 3) supporting through facility support, promotion, and partnerships; 4)\r\nprotecting through prioritizing local communities; and 5) fostering through\r\ncultural preservation and sustainable tourism management. The sustainability of\r\neconomic empowerment is shown through active community participation,\r\nequitable distribution of economic benefits, and continuous community capacity\r\nbuilding. These findings indicate that active community involvement is able to\r\nincrease income, strengthen local capacity, and realize community economic\r\nindependence and sustainability.",
